Ordering a Shand bicycle or frame

Steel Shand bikes are lovingly built by hand in our Partner workshop in Central Scotland and Warsop Mansfield UK. From the fabrication of raw tube stock, through to the final paint we do everything. The final assembly of full bikes is carried out in our workshop in Coventry West Midland and shipped directly to our customers all over the world.

Delivery time for bikes hand built in the UK is usually around 6-9 weeks but can vary due to componentry availability or our production schedules-please ask at the point of ordering for the latest lead times. The Covid pandemic has had a huge impact on componentry lead times throughout the bicycle industry worldwide. If you require a bike by a specific date, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate that. Framesets have a shorter lead time.

The process for placing an order is as follows :

  1. Fill out the provisional order form on the page of the bike you’re interested in. If you’ve not decided on all of the details like colour, size etc, don’t worry, we’ll contact you to confirm everything before we go ahead. If you’d prefer to call or email us to discuss your order then that’s fine too.
  2. Submit the form which will take you to a summary page.
  3. This page will allow you to finalise your order by paying a deposit online using any of the major credit/debit cards. If you’d prefer to pay by bank transfer, skip this stage and email or call us and we will supply the details you need to make the deposit payment.
  4. The final balance is payable upon confirmation of all aspects of the order (size, colour, optional extras), a balance invoice shall be issued for the remaining amount minus the deposit paid, this is usually 7-10 days after the deposit has been made.
  5. Once your bike is assembled and boxed, we’ll contact you with tracking information for delivery or agree a date if you’d like to collect.

Payment methods can be bank transfer (preferred) or credit/debit card.

Your bike will be delivered by Parcel Force 48hr courier anywhere in the UK for £60. We ship anywhere in the world. See below for details on international orders.

Where are you based?

We’re based in Central Scotland, in Livingston. For more details, please view our contact page.

Can I come and visit?

Sure, however, we’re a very busy operation so please call ahead and let us know you’d like to visit. That way we can ensure we have time to see you – and give us time to buy biscuits and do the hoovering!

International Orders

We are happy to ship any of our bicycles and frames internationally. We have lots of experience sending bikes all over the world. Your bike will arrive incredibly well packed in a full size bike box. Before we pack your bike for dispatch we fully assemble and test-ride the complete bike to ensure you have no problems and can get to riding as soon as possible. Assembly will take you around 30 minutes (about 25 of which will be removing the protective packing materials!) and no specialist tools are needed.

Pricing

All our published prices include UK sales tax (VAT). For orders we ship outside of the UK we will remove the VAT element from the total price. VAT is currently set at 20%. If you place an order through our website, we don’t remove the VAT at that point but we will send you an amended order with the discounted price. Note that you will be liable for any import duties and local taxes at your end.
