The Bahookie in it's drop-bar guise is definitely the most versatile bike in our range. Inspired by multi-day/multi-week self supported rides like the Tour Divide and our own HT550 and Cairngorm Loop, the Bahookie is built to get you through the hardest of times and the wildest of terrain. If you're not sure what tyres/wheel combination will work best on your next trip, the Bahookie has you covered. The 2017 Bahookie will take knobbly 2.5" 29er tyres or 650B+ tyres up to 3". The front has additional clearance for a 29+ tyre (with steel or carbon fork option). For a fast rolling mile muncher on slightly less technical trail, the Bahookie flies along with a narrower 29er less aggressive tread. A real off-road tourer. The specially selected Columbus tubeset provides a lightweight, stiff and predictable ride. With a choice of rigid carbon fork for simple and lightweight handling, a steel fork complete with dynamo routing, rack mounts and 'AnythingCage' mounts or a suspension fork for the more technical, bruising rides, the limits of your adventure will be down to you, not the bike.
The Drop-bar Bahookie shares all of the same traits as our Flat-bar Bahookie Adventure 29er but with an adapted geometry, riding position and tube selection optimised for drop bars. Having multiple hand positions available on the drops is vital for comfort and safety on long gruelling off road rides. Being able to stretch out onto the hoods or drop down onto the drops when things get a little technical can really help with avoiding fatigue and the issues coming from cramped riding positions.
As with all the models using our 100+ platform, the Bahookie Drop-bar is designed to be as versatile as possible. Modular dropouts provide options for the following drivetrain options :
The Bahookie Rohloff is also beltdrive ready (a neat splitter is concealed within the PolyDrop dropouts) for the ultimate in reliability and ease of maintenance.
Singlespeed, and derailleur versions of this bike use Boost spacing front and rear (148x12 rear, 110x15 front). The Rohloff version uses 135x10 QR rear and Boost front. Tyre clearance is the same for all models.
Custom fit/geometry is available on this bike.
