Here at Shand we’re not all about gravel, mud and overnight adventures. We also love the freedom and simplicity of a simple stripped-back road bike – and the Rizello is just that. A simple, fast and elegant road bike with the comfort of modern steel and high-end finish we’re renowned for.
Fabricated from Niobium triple-butted steel tubing from Columbus, the Rizello is designed to be all out road fast with a character and attitude to match the 80s punk band that inspired its name. Whether early morning chain gang or fast endurance ride, the lightweight steel frame with space for 28mm tyres and rider specific geometry provides fast handling as well as comfort. Everything you'd want to put a smile on your face.
Designed around 140mm flat mount disc brakes, the Rizello disc has internal cable routing for the rear brake and a 12mm bolt-thru rear axle. Internal cable routing options are also available for front and rear derailleurs, including internal wiring for electronic shifting. Geometry is what you’d expect from a fast road bike with tubing specially selected to be light and fast. The T47 bottom bracket standard has been chosen to take advantage of modern 30mm crank spindles whilst combining the simplicity of a threaded bottom bracket.
The tapered carbon fork is from Columbus, the same Italian manufacturer providing tubes for the frame and the overall finish is completed with an immaculate paint finish from a wide range of colours (including custom options, just ask). The finishing touch is a polished stainless steel headtube badge brazed onto the headtube, forming an integral part of the frame.
All bikes in the Shand 'Road' family (Rizello, Rizello Disc and Skinnymalinky) are offered with custom sizing/fit at no additional cost. The geometry chart shown below should be read as a rough guide.

The Rizello bikes fall into our custom fit programme. As well as our standard sizes listed above customers can request a custom fit bike at no extra cost. We'll work with you either in person, remotely or via a 3rd person fitting specialist to design a bike specifically for you.
Unless otherwise agreed, all complete bikes will be setup with 10mm of spacers under the stem. Stem lengths and seatpost types (layback or inline) are frame size specific to enable maximum amount of adjustability. We can provide a dimensioned drawing of final setup on request.
If you have questions about the frame size and position that suits you best, we can help. Just get in touch to discuss the fitting process and we’ll talk you through our online fitting form. If you already have fit information from a 3rd party, we can make use this too.
As all Shand bikes are built to order, we aim to ensure our bikes fit all customers perfectly – regardless of gender. Read more about how we ensure a perfect bike fit for women.
For specific fit requirements beyond our production frame sizes, we provide a custom fit service to make a bike that fits you perfectly.
All our bikes are painted to order from a standard range of 30 colours. Metallic and custom colours are also available for an additional charge – as are custom colours and one-off graphics if you’re looking for something more individual.
