In our travels we sometimes come across riders who enjoy our type of riding and have more time than us to write about their adventures.
These inspirational and hardy individuals take our bikes and put them through their paces in races, events and personal challenges around the world, providing great feedback about what works and what doesn’t.
Endurance cycling legend Jenny Tough is a true inspiration to all that have a passion for human powered challenges and exploring our beautiful planet. The first woman to ever complete the Silk Road Mountain Race, Jenny is always out there pushing her limits cycling, running, climbing, racing and skiing. She is one of Shand’s off-road ambassadors and has put the Shand Stooshie and Bahookie through their paces in places remote and hostile. The bikes have helped her explore off the beaten track and win races, and she often comes along to Shand’s events across the country to share her experiences with other riders.
Jenny recently won the gruelling Atlas Mountain Race on her Shand Stooshie as the fastest female, in an incredible time of 6 days, 3 hours and 13 minutes.

Paul lives with his partner in the North of England and is a big fan of US long-distance dropbar gravel events such as The Dirty Kanza 200. So much so that he now organises many off-road drop bar cycle events in the UK such as the Dirty Reiver. Paul rides his Shand Stoater often in different experimental component setups.
As well as being a fabrication guru at Shand, Stu is also one of our brand ambassadors and the creator of the Badger Divide, a 200 mile route from Inverness to Glasgow. Clocking up an average 15,000 miles every year on his many bikes, Stu is the perfect test bed to help us develop prototypes and evaluate new componentry. Stu rides 12 months of the year, all over the world, even through the snow and ice of a harsh Scottish winter, where he changes to studded tyres. He really gives our bikes a hard time, to ensure they perform perfectly for our customers in all weathers.
