Try before you buy for Rohloff customers
Like the idea of a Rohloff bike, but never tried one before? Well now’s your chance. As well as demo days, we’re planning to offer a Try before you buy scheme for customers interested in our Rohloff bikes.
The way it would work is like this:
1. Contact us about the bike you’re interested in
2. Pay a refundable deposit to the value of the bike
3. We send the bike to you to try, then you have it ready for collection after 5 days by us
4. After delivery of the bike to Shand we refund your deposit, less £120 fee to cover delivery, collection and other costs.
If you place an order, then the £120 fee will be deducted from the cost of the bike when you place the order.
If you’d like to try one of our Rohloff bikes, drop an email to email@example.com to help us gauge interest and the bikes required for us to make this work.
We’re currently working on a new website (due to launch in the next few weeks) and know that our current site is embarrassingly out of date – please bear with us.
We’ve expanded our Livingston setup to include a better space for customers and have bikes on display. We also have a space in Leamingston Spa with bikes on display and an opportunity to meet the Leamington team. Opening hours for visiting during weekdays is 11:00-15:00 and we plan to open for one Saturday a month. If you’d like to make an appointment, email firstname.lastname@example.org with a date you’d like to visit.
We’re looking into the possibility of offering retail finance to make it easier for you to own a Shand. To help us gauge interest, just drop a line to email@example.com with an idea of whether shorter terms (6 months) or longer terms (24 months) is of interest.
Lower deposits and reduced lead time
We’ve now reduced deposits to £250 for all bikes and lead time is sitting at around 4-6 weeks – just enough time to catch the end of the summer!
Following in the spirit of the Tour Divide and Transcontinental, Nelson Trees has put together an off-road race through the remote and distant mountains of Kyrgystan that we’re proud to be involved with.
The race is a fixed route, unsupported, single-stage cycle race following gravel, single track, double track and old soviet roads that have long been forgotten and fallen into disrepair. Covering a distance of 1,700kms with 26,000m of climbing and minimal resupply points, it’s a classic adventure race as the film above will testify.
We delighted to support Nelson and the team with a series of race podcasts that will be available before and during the race on this page, the SRMR website and all the usual podcast download sites. Internet coverage in the country is limited and a podcast was thought the best way to file daily reports to the outside world.

Like to visit us person, but Scotland is too far for you to travel? Then let us come to you!
We’re planning some demo days around the UK where you can make an appointment to meet us, try out our bikes and ask any questions you might have.
If this is of interest, please complete the online survey (link below) to help us gauge interest and plan what format a demo day might take.
