Just a small utility for calculating wall thickness or inner/outer diameter of tubing. Also converts from mm to inches and vice versa including displaying inches as useful fractions. Handy for choosing tubing listed in units you’re not familiar with.

Tube Miter ( 38k exe(zipped) )

Windows exe file that will display a miter curve based on intersection angles and tube diameter. Runs only on windows but writing a java version for other platforms is on my todo list. Watch this space.

Scan of an article written by David Lammas in Model Engineer magazine from 1988. Discusses renovation of a Myford lathe and goes into some detail on hand scraping. You’ll either find this fascinating or you’ll be unable to stay awake.

Bike Brothers ( 254Mb ASF file(zipped) )

Short documentary about the Taylor Brothers from Stockton-On-Tees. Made by the BBC in about 1986. Not great quality but some interesting footage. Especially Jack painting lining on a tandem by hand using a small roller.
