hit the dirt

Got out yesterday for my first ride off-road in ages. Went down to Glentress with Fat Al, AndyJ and JJ. Remembered how unfit I am at the moment. Took my cross bike down so between the 4 of us we had 2 full suspension 26″ (Santa Cruz and Giant) one 29er single speed front suspension (Fisher Rig?) and my cross bike (rigid with 700×38s).

Bit weird but it was fun. Probably not the best bike choice from me but it gave me a pretty good excuse for riding like a doofus.

This was kinda in memory of our riding buddy Phil who passed away 3 years ago. We stopped at his bench for a while on the way up and admired the view. Wish I’d taken a camera with me.

Anyway, here’s to you Phil.
