Paddling the Au Sable River

Just back from a couple of weeks in Northern Michigan

We stayed in this cabin….

.. which is near the small town of Grayling.

(seems like everyone needs a flag over there)

A good time was had despite the -11ºC weather! We got a little bit of walking done but we were badly prepared and didn’t really come with enough winter gear. Once the weather got a bit better (no blizzards) I managed to get out for some really good kayak trips on the Au Sable river. It was kinda weird paddling amongst snow and ice. Everything was really quiet and white. Pretty spooky actually.
